Description

The special economic zone “National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark” was established in 2007 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 19, 2007, No. 495. Almost 250 billion tenge were invested in the SEZ, some of them came from the national budget. The facilities already present before the implementation of this program were the railways and the Zavodskaya railway station. The most important project in the energy sector was the construction of a gas turbine energy plant directly financed by the National Fund for 103 billion tenge. That infrastructure required another 40 billion tenge for the long-term needs. In the last years 475 jobs were created.

The objective of the SEZ is development and implementation of breakthrough investment projects for the creation and development of world-class petrochemical plants for the deep processing of hydrocarbons and the production of a broad competitive petrochemical industry with high added value.
